What is stored about you
This site was built so it could be used without giving anything away. Signing in is optional and changes what is stored — this page says exactly how.
If you never sign in
Nothing about you leaves your device. Your predicted grades, the A Levels you are considering, your shortlist and your postcode are saved by your own browser, in your own copy of the site, and are not sent anywhere. There is no account, no tracking, no analytics and no cookies beyond what your browser needs to remember those settings.
Clearing your browser data removes them. So does “Remove everything from this browser” on the account page.
If you do sign in
Four things are then stored on a server:
- The name you give. Only used to say hello. A first name is enough, and it does not have to be your real one.
- Your email address. It is how you sign in, and how you get back in if you forget your password.
- Your password, stored the way passwords should be: scrambled by Supabase so that nobody — us included — can read it back. Please do not reuse a password from another site.
- The same settings your browser already had: your predicted GCSE grades, the A Level subjects you picked, the schools on your shortlist, and your home postcode — plus how you have the list filtered, so it looks the same on every device. Nothing else.
Not stored: your date of birth, your school, which schools you looked at, how long you spent, or anything about your device. There is no advertising and nothing is sold or shared. Your row can only be read by you — that is enforced by the database itself, not just by the site.
The server is Supabase, hosted in the United Kingdom. The site itself is hosted by Vercel.
Getting it back, and getting rid of it
On the account page you can delete your account. Deleting is immediate and permanent: the profile and the email address are removed, and no copy is kept. You do not have to ask anyone or give a reason.
Data is kept until you delete it.
Signing out clears your grades, postcode, shortlist and filters from that browser — they stay in your account and come back when you sign in. That matters on a shared or school computer, where the next person to use it should not find your work waiting.
If you are under 18
You probably are — this site is for people choosing a sixth form. That is exactly why so little is stored, and why nothing you do here is tracked or profiled. If you would rather not have an account at all, don’t make one: everything on the site works without one, and always will.
If a parent or carer wants something removed, deleting the account does it in full, from the account page, in one click.
